Extra virgin olive oil from biological agriculture |

Caltabellotta is a municipality in western Sicily, situated on
rocks and crags about 800 m. high and dominated by Pizzo Castello.
The coast and the sea are only about twenty kilometres away.

The
architecture, though conforming itself to the passing of time,
still preserves towers,
church
spires, narrow streets and old houses with tile roofs and smoking
chimneys. The prevailing economy is Agriculture (olives, almond,
vineyards, citrus and other fruit trees) and sheep-rearing (cheese).

|
Tourism and its pertinent business is just starting off, due to
recent studies. Oral and written evidence attests that the
olive-tree is a plant which has been grown for centuries at
Caltabellotta. |

The Firm created by Pellegrino Arcario between 1960 and 1970 has a
surface of about 20 hectares: an area (ha 14.00.00) is located on
the mountains at 700 m. of altitude (the small village of
Cuttunaru); another one (ha 5.47.00) is located in a plain at 100
m. ( the small village of Chianu of Monacu). |
|
In
both villages the founder has been particularly careful in the
growing of olive trees, choosing to cultivate mainly the cultivar
of Bianculidda ( Biancolilla ) |
